Meet the Regulars #3

Peter is a fairly fresh "Regular" at Karmøygeddon. He´s coming all the way from England to attend the festival, which we think is really cool! He is a huge fan of Black Metal, and has even named his little boy after the legendary Valfar of Windir. This is surely a guy we want to get to know better!

Name: Peter Lote Age: 34 From: Walsall, England When I'm not headbanging at Karmøygeddon, I'm.... stuck here in England wishing we had festivals even half as good as Karmoygeddon is each year! 1. When was the first time you visited Karmøygeddon and how many times have you participated ever since?

My first Karmoygeddon was back in 2014 for the Sognametal set when the festival was still in Haugesund and I've been back every year since then and will be attending in 2018 too 2. Describe what Karmøygeddon is to you:

Karmoygeddon is kinda like an extended family, there are so many people I've met there, friends I've made, and I've always been made to feel welcome since the day I first set foot into the festival and Johnny himself introduced himself to me. 3. What is your best Karmøygeddon memory?

Best Karmoygeddon memeory, seeing the Sognametal set in 2014. I've always been a huge fan on Windir so to see the remaining members putting on that show with Vegard on vocals in tribute to his brother was nothing short of amazing. 4. What is your favourite metal genre and why?

Favourite genre has to be Black metal (and most of its subgenres). When my brother first played me metal many years ago I wanted something harsher, something more extreme and went and bought my first album, which happened to be a Bathory album. Since then, it's all been about black metal. 5. What would be the ultimate band to play at Karmøygeddon - yes, you can pick ANY band you like, both split/dead/non-existing/existing!

The Ultimate band for me at Karmoygeddon would be Windir, with Valfar back on vocals as I never got a chance to see that happen, seeing the Sognametal set three times (Norway, Holland and England) was the closest I will ever come to that. 6. What band(s) do you look forward seeing at next year's festival?

A very tough question... It's always amazing to see bands like Primordial, My Dying Bride, Rotting Christ, but I'm also excited to see my friends in Cor Scorpii and Slegest playing live again, then there is Pagans Mind who I haven't seen live since 2006.. All in all I'm excited to see pretty much every band on the bill.
